Very Merry Unbirthday

Today, December 10, is my very merry unbirthday. The Unbirthday is an Alice In Wonderland thing and an excuse to give a gift any day you want. teehee. Since my birthday falls during the Thanksgiving season I always figure if I don't get what I want for my birthday I'll just put it on my Christmas list. teehee. This year I was out smarted by a dear friend and am celebrating my very merry unbirthday today, exactly two weeks between birthday and Christmas. Love it!Have you ever been truly surprised by a gift. One that takes your breathe away for some reason. Getting my engagement ring did it for me. Hearing I was pregnant did it too (such a gift). Well today I was blown away by a gift. I was given a print of a photograph I admired in an art gallery back in July! While not as important as a ring or a baby, this gift makes my eyes tear for it's unexpected delight and the sheer indulgence of owning a piece of art. When a friend looks into your wish list and finds they can grant one it's pretty exciting. It makes me think though at this gift giving time of year, do I realy look at a person's wish list (real or imagined) or am I roaming the aisles aimlessly ready to grab anything. Hmmm.It's hard to find everyone on my list the perfect gift. But every once in a while if I look at the list they keep secret the one that includes a back rub after work or flowers on a Tuesday night or an extra hour of sleep maybe I can find a thoughtful something that will surprise.Wishing you good hunting as you bargain shop and try to find the perfect gifts for special people on your Christmas list this year.
