Nature Patterns

I take a lot of photos as source material; shots that will be used in drawings later. And they look neat in the mean time. Okay it’s my excuse to take lots of nature pictures. There are more natural designs than I could ever dream up on my own.

A walk on Iona delivers all kinds of vistas. And taking the long view is amazing. However, there were small delights when I looked closely and carefully. I found SO MANY snail shells on a walk home from the North Beach of the island. I knew I couldn’t take all of them home in my suitcase. So I spent time playing with them at the picnic table by the St. Columba Hotel. It was fun. And I was saved the problem of figuring out how to get them home safely. Though truth be told these shells are tough. One did make it home in one piece.
