July 27th

July 27, 1866 The Atlantic Cable was successfully completed and allowed transatlantic telegraph communication for the first time. Now 146 years later I can ring up anyone I want in the world on the cell phone in my hand. It boggles the mind. But it’s equally as amazing that we still want to share the same kind of information. teeheeJuly 27, 1940 Bugs Bunny debuted in the Warner Brothers cartoon, A Wild Hare. A star really was born that day. As famous as any flesh and blood star 72 years later we still laugh over Bugs. Mr. Bunny was voiced by Mel Blanc who used to actually crunch on carrots while recording.July 27, 1949 Peggy Fleming was born and turns 63 today. She was the American figure skater to win Olympic gold in 1968. On this day of the Opening Ceremonies for the London Summer Games it’s nice to wish an Olympian Happy Cake and Candle Day! Okay wrong season but still a celebration. So what’s up for your July 27, 2012? Will there be history in the making? I intend to knit on my helix socks today. Fun fun fun!
