Miles of Stockinette

What am I knitting today? What I've been knitting for days...miles of stockinette, in white no less! If this sounds like I am complaining I have misled you. I am making a scarf for my son, by request and of his own design. He wanted to see if I could knit a QRCode. Turns out I can. And he wanted it to be a scarf. Okay. He also wanted it to be simple. All-rightie. Now that knitting the code part is over I'm left with the simple part...miles of stockinette. Ya know what? It's not boring. Okay it's a little mind bending but in a good way. I can really knit on auto-pilot and that lets my mind wander. I have spent time praying for my son while I knit on his scarf. Sometimes I worry about him but mostly I rejoice in the young man he is becoming. He's off at college now so having a project that brings him to mind daily is a gift. (Speaking of gift I want to get this done for Valentines' Day! gotta go knit some more....)When was the last time you knit miles of stockinette? Was it fun or boring?
