A New Adventure!

Entry Number One, Ya gotta start somewhere!I’m excited to launch my redesigned website. Kitty did a great job making it feel like home for me. I’m also excited to have a place to chat weekly. I can stretch out and think about things here. Let you know what’s going on with me and hear back from you. I hope you’ll check out this page from time to time and see what’s new.It’s a thrill to have a new knit book to offer the fiber community. I hope many will find encouragement and inspiration from it. I had such a good time hunting the stories and interviewing the knitters in the book. It’s like the best knit circle ever. And now I get to go out and visit even more knitters as I take the book on the road.For the month of October I’ll be touring knit shops from California to New Jersey. (See the News & Events page for the schedule.) Other than being the ultimate yarn crawl for me it’s a chance to visit with knitters and enjoy their stories and company. Knitters are some of the friendliest people on the planet, always eager to let another join their circle. I always come away from knit days with joy.Several of the stops on the tour will be in Boston. I’ll confess I had an ulterior motive for stopping in Boston. My son is a freshman at Boston University this fall and Parents Weekend is in October. Cool. What a great excuse to stop by and see him. “I just happen to be in town dear.” teehee. He’s our one and only, so parents weekend was a must do. But Monday morning it’s back to the yarn! Could it get any better? Well ya.One of the last stops on the tour will be a knit-a-thon in New Jersey. I have never done anything like it, knit for 24 hours! What a great fundraiser idea. I’m eager to give it a try and see who will join me for the challenge. We’ll make it fun or this knitter will sleep through the wee hours and prolly drop a few stitches. It’s all raise money for the Morristown Memorial Hospital a worthy cause. More details to come.So off I go, new website, new parent adventure, new book. Lots of change and it’s looking like a blast!
