Not Another Resolution

This is the time of year when blogs, posts, ads, everything is geared to making a fresh start. All well and good. It's a great idea to assess your life. It's necessary, essential even to find where change would be a good idea. This is just not the time of year I prefer to do it. I like to make changes in September. The school year is so engrained in me as the beginning of the year that is when I like to start fresh. So I am feeling a little smug that January is business as usual for me. Lose ten pounds? On it. I joined Weight Watchers in September. The holidays set me back three pounds but the plan is in place and I'm working on it. Write a new book? On it. I started collecting new stories in October. I am interviewing and hunting and working away. But I am still find it hard to get it all down on paper. As you can see just because I put seeds of change in place back in September does not mean they are fully grown by January. So if you haven't made a resolution, fear not. The first of the year, month, week does not hold some magic power that you missed. You can make a change any time you want. In fact come February most folks will have changed their minds about their New Year's Resolutions anyway. teehee It's a Thursday see what you'd like to do differently today.
