Speedy Service, A Disappointment
Today I took my car in for it’s first service appointment. Since it is still under warranty I had to take it to the dealership. And the closest one to me is in San Francisco. When I made the appointment I was advised it would take most of the day. No worries I am sure I can fill a day in San Francisco. How fun it that? FUN.The courtesy van dropped me off at the Ferry Building. First stop Book Passage, one of my favorite independent books store. Browsing the titles I found a new one I wanted to read, I indulged and made a purchase. Peets’ Coffee is right next door so I ordered a coffee and settled in to read a couple chapters. A half hour later I tucked the book away and pulled out my knitting. I had packed wisely and brought the supplies to make at least a dozen little puffs for the hexi-puff quilt I am working on. (One little puff takes half an hour to complete.) I happily sat there and people watched as I knit. I also tried to decide which yummy place to have lunch. The Slanted Door won. It smelled delicious, but just as my order arrived at the table my phone buzzed, the car was ready. What? I thought we had a deal? I got to play in San Francisco all day while they serviced my car all day. I’ve never been so disappointed in speedy service. I didn’t rush my meal but I did go pick up my car after lunch. I felt a little guilty taking the rest of the day off when I needed to get back to work. Bummer, play day over.
