Hang Time
Dinner with my sister-in-law last night! Woo Hoo. I love touching base with this dear woman. I married into a great relationship when I discovered a new sister was part of the deal. We live in the same time zone at last so we can have a dinner out every now and then. We still have to plan ahead though, since we live 2 hours from each other. But what fun to get to see her rather than email or chat on the phone.Waiting to have girl time is an issue for me. I get so busy with work and chores, that family and friends can get left by the wayside. It feels a little selfish to schedule in time with girlfriends. But wait why should that be? Time with dear people in my life is the best time of my week. I should not steam roller over those opportunities by pushing to get chores done. Hanging out with a friend is more productive. And way more fun than doing the laundry even if I do need clean clothes. I also need a regular check in with the lovely people who feed my sense of happy. Happy for me is hanging with friends and family. I want to know how they are doing. Okay I also want to have a really good meal with them. Keeping my heart connected to those I love takes time. If that means I have to schedule it in than find the pen I want to put a date on the calendar. How important is hang time for you?
