Indulgence
This week I was away on a retreat with mnay of the authors from our book agency. We had a marvelous time together. Learning more about the publishing industry as well as our own writing careers. We had free afternoons to indulge.I did a little personal indulging too. I treated myself to a massage. Oh My! I really should do that more often. Eased the tension in my shoulders. Rubbed the stress from my back. Massaged the pain from my feet. Relaxed the furrow of my brow. Ahhhh. It was a little bit of heaven. It was the mountain-top of indulgence. And a very good reminder to me: take time to indulge. You can too. I mean it. Take time to say ahhh in your day. If I brought home nothing else from this retreat it was the knowledge that a little pampering is a very good thing. A cup of tea in the back yard will go a long way to keeping me happy. Putting my feet up with a book for twenty minutes in the afternoon will be such a nice way to distress. Walking in the park when my day is otherwise going nuts is the perfect break. Finding time to indulge without paying for a full body massage is the lesson I learned this week. What indulgence will you give yourself today? (Psst, it can be chocolate covered.)
